Book Synopsis: It was an ordinary day at the American Embassy in Tokyo. Two young U.S. Marines were in the lobby on guard duty. They stood on either side of a wide staircase. It was 5:00 P.M., and the daily routine was slowing to a stop.
A young woman approached the stairway. She was stopped by one of the Marines. She ignored his words and began to go up the stairs. The Marine angrily grabbed her arm... and as she turned, the last thing he saw was a Beretta .380 firing a bullet into his head.
The other Marine leaped forward pulling a .45 out of his white leather holster. Simultaneously, a man with an Uzi submarine gun appeared. His bullets nearly cut the Marine in half. And the gun-wielding visitors raced up the embassy stairs toward their target. With in the house leaders of the U.S. and Japanese governments were alerted: the American ambassador to Japan had a gun at his head.
The terrorists were members of the United Red Army, and they were about to announce an ultimatum and ransom demand.
The CIA quickly chose Malko to resolve what might be the most explosive international incident since the Palestinian terrorists struck at Amsterdam's Schipol airport. It would also be the most bloody and bizarre adventure in Malko's long career... and only a hairsbreadth from being his last!
